I did some internet research on this Smith and Wesson.
According to the internet it 116 years old and refurbished in 1956.

I don't want get all smiles but it was a fairly natural hold and aim for me.
After 25or so my wrist did not hurt like it did with a stubby 357 I'd shoot with 38s

I have a similar combo but a hair smaller. It is a Marlin 1892, and a S&W hand ejecter both use .32s&w long cast 100gr mild loads that have next to no recoil and just under 1000fps in the rifle.

I have a similar S&W revolver chambered in .38LC with a serial number 25xxx. It was given to me ~20 years ago by the widow of a Marine Corps Brigadier General who had brought it home from the Pacific as a war trophy. As she told the story, when 1st Marine Division finished repatriating the last of the IJA from Manchuria and was redeploying to the US in 1946, all of the individual equipment, including war trophies, were to be surrendered before boarding the ships back to the US. Piles of war trophy Arisakas and Nambus along with various other non-government issue weapons were just stacked in piles. However, officers were allowed to keep two sidearms as war trophies to take back with them. Her husband selected this S&W revolver and an FN Browning 1910 that came with a flap holster. I was honored that she gave them to me when her husband passed. It came with a box of Winchester cartridges. I never fired it with .38LC but I have fired a box of modern Remington .38SC from the revolver. The closest thing I have to pair with it is an Uberti 1873 in .357.

About to get a .410 upper for my spare AR-15 lower, to go with my
Taurus Judge Magnum (2022) .45LC/.410 (and the 2 single-shot .410 breaks and the .410 SxS .410 coach gun)!

I just can't seem to find (or afford) a revolver converted to .25-20 to go with my Win 1892 (1909) and Marlin 1894 (1912) in .25-20.
