It happened, here are the pics... :)
If you look closely at the receiver you will see the pitting from the rust.
I've tried what I can but the pits are into the metal.
Thankfully I can cycle it with my pinky finger.
The wood is decent. No idea what year this is.
How many of the serial numbers do I need to determine it's age?
Here is the serial #17063xxx

The wood is a little rough, it's definitely a shooter.
I will try and get it to the range this week to try it out.

Thanks, good to know it's a 1983. It feels like it's been handled a lot
over the years.
It's no safe queen, and I'm good with that.
If this gun could talk, it would NOT be giving a lot of details about the inside
of a safe.

Now I just have to hope it shoots true.

Thanks, hopefully I can pick up a box of ammo somewhere and find out this week.
It's been about 30 years or so since I owned one of these in 44 mag.

Soooo I'm guessing no ammo, means no pistolas in 44mag either :hmmmm: :flute: Yourrrr gonna have to remedy that! :shot: AND im thinkin if that 1894SS over there^ is Sold, you can use them "Mad Funds" to getcha a handcannon Sooner than LATER! :marchmellow:

How many "Enablin Points" does that get me :hmmmm:

44 mag. Would be an 1894 not an 1893. Fwiw
It's an 1894s built in 1983.

@Bloodgroove
Yep no handcannon in 44 mag. No desire either, not with my Carpal Tunnel.
But if I did buy a 44 Mag it would be a Ruger Alaskan.
Load that up with some Underwood bear loads and I'd be GTG!
My wife wants a new gun again, she just shoots the hot loads
too quickly (wait that didn't sound right) anyway she thinks shooting the
whole cylinder like Jerry M. is the way to go.

She classed as an NRA "A rank shooter" on Silhouette with the 357 Rossi.
Just 2 hits behind me and one of mine was dropped because I took
it out of order so if that had passed I'd have classed as AA rank.

I can't wait to try out the 44 Marlin at the next 200 yard match!
