My favorite BH I sold it in the early 80's cause it was so hard to ammo for it where I was. Its the one I regret selling the most.

View attachment 762945 I think this is the perfect trail gun. She is a 2002 4 5/8" Blackhawk in the venerable .41 magnum.

41 is okay----I have a Model 57 with 8 in barrel. Also have a 41 conversion for a Desert Eagle. Good flat shooting round with the 210 grn bullets.

I do reload a 215 grain hard cast gas checked bullet. I use it in my 1894 FG 41 mag. It also shoots well in my Gary Reeder ultimate .41. I have a spare 41 mag cylinder that I fit to it. The other cylinder is .41 GNR. BUT IT IS A 7 1/2" barrel and I use it for hunting.

Tomray, I have .357,44 and 45 colts. The 41 out performs them all in one area or more. It will more than handle anything in Arkansas.

Bought one just like it in 1985 for the princely sum of $155. Still have it. I bought mine as a hiking/trail sidearm. This was long before Ruger started making the 44 mag available with the short barrel.

Nice looking rig--especially the engine turned/spot polished hammer. I did that to a Super Blackhawk that I had decades ago.

I don't like to admitt it but I have two 57s, both 83/8" nickel. I trade off another 83/8" blue and a 6" blue. I also have several 29s in 4-6.5 and 83/8". I don't shoot the nickel 41s at all and have shot 29s that much for several years. I found 38sp-44sp-45Colt much more pleasant to shoot and 44sp & 45Colt will handle anything I might want to shoot. The only S&W magnum I shoot much is 27s and I don't have use for magnum loads in them either. The 41mg I wish I had kept was a 58 I bought when 1st out. With 210gr factory it was the most accurate fixed sight gun I ever had. I've killed 2 deer with 41mag. One each with 58 and a Ruger BH 3screw. A buddy of mine that goes elk hunting every chance he gets has the 58 and won't come off it. It's his bear back up. image.jpeg image.jpeg

Bought my 1st BH w/6-1/2" barrel in '71. It was stolen in '72 but quickly replaced. My continuing affair with .41's continues with my 657's, the replacement BH, and my pride and joy 1894 CCL .41 mag. The revolvers have a steady diet of 220 gr. SWC's (Lyman 410459), but the Marlin likes the 220 gr. RNFP
from Saeco. None have ever let me down or disappointed. They definitely punch with authority!

In late 60s I had a Ruger in each caliber and each barrel length. Those were 3 screw days. I bought my dad a 357/9mm new model and he liked it but I didn't. It shoot fine but I never warmed up to the new model. Never bought another but got a few on trades. The only ones I have left is SBH and Single-6. Got both new in 1964. Traded the rest of them off when I got into S&Ws heavy. image.jpeg image.jpeg

Really nice gun Duke. I love the .41's too. My only Ruger is the 5 1/2 in Bisley stainless. I carry it hunting the most but the only deer killed with the 41 was with my Tarus Tracker. It was at the right place at the right time.

Very nice Ruger! Never got into the 41 Mag as I have a couple 44 Mag Rugers and Marlin 1894s. My LGS does carry 41 Mag ammo but I have never made the plunge.
