Check out Petersen's Hunting Adventures this week if you get the channel. They are featuring the SBL 45-70 on a boar hunt. They have a female rep from the Freedom Group on there.

I liked her Marlin hat - hadn't seen any like that anywhere else.....
Yeah, I think Marlin should give away a hat when you buy one of their guns. That would be a good gesture on their part to say they are sorry for the problems we have been having. Of course it would be better if they could get to the point that we are not afraid to order a new gun.

SHe came from Remington and used to be Jim Zumbo's side kick.

That 45-70 sure put the smack on that bore.

Made me feel proud to own one and happy that mine was a good one from the start. I liked that XL7 .308 she was shooting too. That is not a bad bolt action for under $400.

Does this come on the Outdoor Channel or the Sportmans Channel? And do you know what time? Thanks

Finally good to see at least one current production Marlin can shoot straight. Now if they can only get their quality control in order on the rest of their production!

I think somebody on the rant forum said he thought it was a JM SBL, something about not enough dovetails to be a Rem! ;D

It was filmed in 2010. Tomray said Linda Powell left FGI for Mossberg a little while ago. That may be why it was missing the custom shop second dovetail.

It must have been filmed in 2009 because they were talking about the record sow, 550 lbs., they killed a few days before and that sow was killed on March 31, 2009. Here is a picture of it.

Could have been 2009 as far as I know. Come to think of it, the year I saw noted on the channel guide would have been the first time it aired.
