Picked up two Marlins that you might be interested in for data. One is a '93 carbine, while the other is a 1893 rifle. The carbine has an interesting serial number. It carries the normal "Corp." markings on the barrel, and is a 20" carbine, with Model '93 on the tang. No Bullseye, or star. Serial number underneath the lever is very large, about 1/4" tall, and 4 digit. Cal. is .30-30 Win. Serial number 100x
The second is a 1893 rifle marked"Marlin Fire-Arms Co." Model 1893 on the tang. The receiver has no Hepburn sight holes, no star. It is also 26" full octagon, .30-30, but it has no wood, so I can't tell you much more. Bought it for parts, but it's complete, minus wood and mag tube, so I believe I wont part it out afterall. Should date to about 1900 from the serial number. 208xxx.
Email me, and I'll give you the complete serial numbers for these two.

Thanks MM93. I have sent you a private email. Disregard my question on the location of the serial number. Parley
