Here are some .308, 150gr Barnes XFN Bullets.
They were shot at a distance of five feet into 10'' of wood, a dry hard tree stump to be exact. They both passed completly through and took a chunk out of a cinder block. In know this isn't a realistic test as far as game goes but I think it would have completly wasted most bullets. One weighed 149.7 grains the other 149.9 after fireing. I was impressed.

Velocity was 2000 on the smaller mushroom and 2200 on the larger one.

Gurn-Those Barnes are something else for sure. One of the best around.I tried some Fail Safes in my .270 and didn't like them at all. They didn't open up worth squat.Did alot of trackin that year and haven't used them since. Those of yours you showed would certainly got your animal and you may not have recovered them.

Keep the test and pics a commin....Jayco.

Jayco, what velocity were you shooting those fail safes at?
Thumcocker-Mine were factory 140 grain Fail Safes and I don't have them right here for a velocity. They don't open as well as the Barnes in my opinion. Not much bigger than the original size.I may have gotten a bad batch but I am much happier with the Trophy Bonded Bear Claws in 140 grain High Energy in my .270.

Best of luck.....Jayco
