Looking at some Hornady 444 bullets #4300 and notice new have failure slots in them,old don't. Someone may be able to data old by the box,late 1990s I think.Same # but new say Interlock,old box does not.Just thought it was curious.

I don't have any .44's like that but do have some .30 cal. and .41's.I bought them back in the late 70's and 80's.

I've never been accused of being super smart so I am going to ask a question. I have never heard of "failure slot's" what are they? I am guessing the cuts in the jacket where the lead is exposed, to initiate expansion. To answer your question the old box is early to mid 90's vintage, I have a bunch of them from that era.

Yes, used failure slots because I don't know what else to call them.
