Welcome to Marlin owners. I can't tell much from those pictures but someone may know. How about a picture of the rifle from end to end. I would love to see what that gun looks like.
Got me. The barrel looks a lot like the one on my single shot Model100 as does the action to cock the rifle. Not sure bout the tube on the bottom. Maybe someone will see it tonight that knows more about it. Is it a single shot or is that a magazine tube on the bottom. Looks like a model 100 with a newer stock and a magazine tube on the bottom to me.
Now I see that picture it looks like a magazine fed rifle. Did some one try and make it a magazine fed rifle? I will wait on the experts to come along as I am sure someone will know right off.
Right thats what I see. All I want to do is find the tube feeder for it. But without a model number im in the dark. It shoots great still as a single shot but would love to have it complete. Its my girls grandfather's my guess from the 30s.
I knew someone would have the answer on this site. I thought it looked like a Marlin 100 with a different stock and the tube and opening in the bottom of the receiver threw me. Learned something new tonight. Elkman69 thanks for posting the pictures and starting the thread.
Absolutely. Really awesome to findout the history of my girls grandaddys gun. He was a special man. Glad I cane onto the forum. And thank you again 10 acres !!!👊 My pops was Born in Moberly Missouri...
Well more history!! Apparently he was a shooting instructor in the Army in New York. He was given the gun as a gift from one of the amusement park as a thank you gift.
Thanks for sharing, always good to learn more about these old Marlins and the stories behind them. I didn’t know they existed until I found that page in the Brophy book.
