The venerable old 336 is about to be off to JES for reboring to .38-55!
My friend Paul, who has an FFL, will help me pack it securely for the trip.
BTW, the box my XT22VR came in fits as if it were made for a 336A!
I'm excited! I love the .38-55, and this old 336 is the perfect candidate for a rebore!
I have studied for some time now and have heard nothing but praise for Jess and his crew.
The game is afoot!!

Congrats. I had my .30-30 rebored to .38-55 by Ackley in 1976, love the cartridge. What bore diameter are you going with?

??? I would assume .375. Wasn't anything said about bore diameter.

Definitely pack it good. That looks like a perfect candidate and you will be very satisfied.

I would also take the stock off. Don't know why he would need the stock anyway. Seen too many broken stocks to be comfortable shipping fully assembled.

He test fires the rifle when done, kind of hard to do with no stock even with such a great comfortable cartridge like the 38-55.
