odd marlin 94 rifle

Heres an interesting little rifle, model 94 s/n 511 cal 44-40,full octagon, full magazine, star on tang, this rifle has a small grove in the bottom of the receiver, and a hand stamped serial number. In talking with parley about this rifle we determined it was made from a 94 musket frame. Don

Interesting how a lot of these early Corporation Model 94's have the round lever. Very nice rifle. Also the musket trigger plate is not unusual in that serial number range.

They are interesting Don, and I've seen a number of those built up from old Musket trigger plates. Always have the learger serial numbers, and always in a 3 or 4 digit number when I see them. Seems most I've seen were in .44-40 and .38-40 too. Neat little part of Marlin history.
