The video says it all!

A memo from the Justice Department reveals the Obama Administration is considering measures which could result in a nationwide ban on handguns.

The documents states that "a gun ban will not work without mandatory gun confiscation." It also says universal background checks "won't work without requiring national gun registration."

President Obama has never publicly stated he is in favor of gun confiscation. However, this document suggests the administration may be moving in that direction.

The memo, written by Greg Ridgeway from the National Institute of Justice in the department, was dated January 4, 2013. it was originally obtained by the National Rifle Association, although they will not reveal how they came into possession of the document.

The memo concludes that banning high-capacity magazines would be an ineffective means of removing weapons from streets, due to the large number already in hands of Americans.

Background checks could provide a first step to control, and eventually outlaw firearms, according to the document.

The Australian gun back program was closely examined in the report. Ridgeway noted that mass shootings have not occurred in the 15 years since the buyback took place, but it had no other effect on reducing crime.

Andrew Arulanandam, spokesman for the NRA, confirmed the document in genuine.

The Justice Department states the document is just a synopsis of research on gun control strategies. The agency denies any interest in taking guns from "law-abiding Americans."

The problem with National gun registration here in Australia is that it also requires you to have a firearms licence, now things get interesting. In order to obtaina gun you need to meet licence criteria, such as where do you shoot and more importantly why, hunting or target, and where do you shoot targets and do you have written permission to shoot on this property. It sounds like Obama is looking closely at the fiasco created here and seems to like it. The more documented information the authorities obtain on the above questions, the easier it is for them to find you have breached something and then confiscate your firearm. We have never had fully automatic weapons for public sale here in Australia, but when the buy back happened (1996), the sixty minutes news crew had an auto AR15 in their studio and let loose with a magazine in front of the audience (they fired into a enclosed area) and told the audience that these are what anyone can buy at anytime. pretty poor how the media happily lies and twists the truth to get ratings. Interseting how no politician is interested in stopping the crooks from getting firearms. We have the Sporting Shooters Association Australia and a small political party, so we do what we can.

Good luck with that commies..... The left used to celebrate the use of "civil disobedience" as a means of protest. We'll see how they like it in this case if they ever actually try something like this.

There has been mandatory firearm registration here in the UK since the firearms act of 1937. So it was all so easy to ban semi automatic rifles in 1987 with minimal compensation and handguns in 1997.

We have a Firearm Certificate (FAC) for (obviously) fireams and a Shotgun Certificate for shotguns with a capacity of no more that 3 rounds. All others require a firearm certificate.

The applied for Firearm Certificate (FAC) states what guns are owned and what calibre of guns the holder may wish to purchase at a later date. Also the FAC states how much and of what calibre of ammunition the holder can keep and purchase. This FAC and Shotgun certificate has to be renewed every five years. That is not an automatic renewal and has to be applied for.

There other incidentals such as all firearms noted on a FAC have to be used at least once a year at a Govenment Home Office approved club / range unless approved for such a pest control and the holder must nominate which HM approved club he is a member of if the firearms are to be used for target shooting and not pest control. Levels of home security dependant on firearms held are also a considerstion when granting or renewing a certificate. If a shooter wished to use a black powder firearm then that is yet another certificate and more security questions. (probably due to Mr Guidio Fawkes)

So perhaps Mr O has similar in mind for the US. Firearm registration leading to confiscation coming to a State near you.

Without sounding overly arrogant, ignorant or macho, I have to wonder:

* Do they think everyone will just give up what is theirs?
* Do they think they even know how many guns are out there?
* Do they have any idea how much ammo is held and cached?
* Do they not see where this will inevitably lead?
* Do they care?

Answer to all above is NO! They think they will be insulated from the stench that will surely follow such actions.

This I seriously doubt.

They can come and get some of mine if they wish..........no problem.......only some of them though

A Gun Registration Act will never get through Congress. Even if it did, that is against State law in PA. Federal Law is suppose to take precedence over State laws. Take a Wild Guess what the FED can do with ANY registration act? Gun owners will ignore it and then vote out any politian that voted in favor of the such a bill. Of course, the commies on the LEFT will vote to keep an Anti-gun idiot in office. However, an issue like that is not going to work. There are too many gun owners that are already on the verge of rebellion against the dim wits in the cesspool in DC. Washington is full of cockroaches, stock up on large cans of RAID!

Be ever so vigilant, my American friends.

What advantage you blokes have that we did not is safety in numbers. However, in order to maintain that advantage you all must become united under one banner and from the outside looking in it would appear your best bet is the NRA.
I know it isn't popular with all gun owners, so if you don't like the way it's run or the people who run it do something about it, and do it fast.

I know it's hard to believe but there are democrats that are gun owners.
We have more than a few of them at the gun club I belong to.
Makes no sense to me but hopefully they will vote against democrats
who try and take away their guns.

Valerie Jarret, the Presidents Chief Adviser, said they would get Gun Control passed this year. Could just be pandering to the Base, parroting the Cocktail Circuit Elites, or getting in line for some of that 50 million Bloomberg promised. Or, these could actually be their marching orders. No matter how you look at it, we need to stick together and put up a united front. Don't let them put up wedge issues and phony disclaimers about "assault weapons" and "Universal Background Checks" being "Common Sense".

We went through this in the 1920's and 30's. It was called "prohibition". It instantly made criminals out of about 6% of our population which were alcoholics. It didn't work. Crime went up, sales went up, underground markets grew worldwide. It was a mess. We have a lot more gun owners than just 6%, and our government knows it. IMHO our gov't is stupid, but not that stupid.

....WHAT IF...the O is going to use executive orders to initiate the gun control.....then, when the confrontations begin declare martial law - suspend elections and anoint himself supreme ruler ? the muslim sleeper cells will be called into action and their deeds attributed to the gun owners.

that would explain the precedent set by circumventing the law in the recent prisoner exchange. it was a precedent setting manuver, pure and simple. couple that with the recent removal of top military commanders....

now the question is - does he want to suspend the next election or wait till '16. it could very well be the next one if see;s losing his senate majority as probable.

stay alert....
