Bought this sweet Marlin model 60 in camo (actually model 60C) from budsgunshop.... got the rings and scope simmons 3-9x40 from ebay... on the cheap.

Yay! finally Dad has a 22 to plink with... mom and both my little boys already have owned their own for years and years.... finally dad gets one.

Good for you. I love my 60 and as I've often said, it just might be my favorite gun period. There is a reason the Marlin Model 60 is the most prolific auto-loading .22LR on the planet.

Take your time and feed it a wide variety of ammo, to isolate the one it shoots the best. Marlin makes VERY good barrels, and my old Model 60 was known to print 5-shot 50-yard groups under a half-inch with cheap bulk ammo. I put a sizeable dent in the local squirrel population with that rifle!
