Hey folks! Just bought the new rifle. Love it. However, I have a question for the forum that puzzles me and I can't get the answer from the owners manual. On the bottom of the rifle, just forward of the cocking lever is a metal tab that sticks out. I've noticed it on several other rifles on the forum. I know its probably a stupid question, but if anyone can assist it sure would be appreciated.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is and its function. If you were to turn the weapon upside down, right in front of the cocking lever screw, that small metal "tab" that stick out. It will go in and out with a push of the finger, but not sure what the function of it is as well as the importance of it. Thanks

That little tab is on the cartridge carrier lifter, and its function in the "up" position, when the lever is open, is to keep the rest of the cartridges in the magazine from coming out.
