Great find... looks to be in super condition. Love the caliber. How long is that barrel?

Snagged it for $459. I had to pay tax too because it was a dealer selling it in my state, but oh well.
Just curious, did that gun come from a dealer in northern NY? I had been looking at an 1895 at my dealer freinds shop who I know advertises on GB.
That's a fine looking rifle!!! 8)
Good deal!!!
Love that one!! :)
Great find. Looks like you already have a great collection, this one just adding to the herd!

Congrats.

mattusmc:Yep,sure did. ;D
To all others:It is very sweet handling, very well balanced.I love it already and havent even shot it yet. That may be awhile as I
have too much snow blocking my range off.

Still a sweet deal.

Add a full length mag tube to make it a short rifle, receiver peep sight and you have my 1895...

Good for you, I almost bought that gun. :) Time, space, cash flow were all that stopped me. Enjoy it....
I have bought quite a few guns from that dealer. Very good man to deal with...

Thanks,
Maybe I'm crazy, but I drove over 200 miles(one way) to pick it up.I also thought dealer was great to deal with.I guess I'll make up some different loads to try in it for when the weather improves.
I don't think you are crazy. A .45-70 at the end of a road trip is sort of like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ;D
Hope you enjoyed the trip through thr ADK's...
That is an awesome rifle !! You got a really fair deal on it ..I'd be proud to have it in my collection too...enjoy !! and be sure to give us the full range report 8)
That year they were made with Douglas rifles. Bought one in pawn for 300 4 years ago.
