I was lucky to find this gem. It was originally purchased in the home town I grew up in. So it's a small link to my childhood. Sounds a little corny but I'm really excited to have it.
And a see a 45-70 in my future. Hahaha

Stew, welcome to the forums and to the Marlinitis addiction from the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee! That's a great looking rifle and it will serve you faithfully your entire life. Yeah, you have to get a 45-70! It's the big brother to your 336 so it just belongs! We're glad you joined us!

Are you still in or near your original home town? You will like the home town memories you will get having it.

Welcome to Marlin Owners!

Great 1st rifle as well, these "store brand" Marlins are something of an unknown gem when you find them. I love my 1967 Revelation -

Revelation 200.JPG

They are as nice as any Marlin of the era in my opinion.

And as far as being a member here, be careful, most of us have Marlinitis - you can't have only one . . . or two . . . or three . . .

Regards,

B
