I am a new member and I am looking for my first big bore.
I have plenty of scoped, bolt action rifles and I am considering the Cowboy 45-70 for just shooting and hunting in South Texas (big deer).
I have read so many good things about the Cowboy and like the conventional look (no checkering).
Are the new Cowboys okay or should I look for an older model?

Let me know your thoughts and let me know if you have one for sale.

Thanks,
Snuff

Welcome to Marlin Owner's, from Maine!!! :)

The cowboy is a great choice for a bigbore rifle!!! 8)

I would look for an older 1895CB..
Only buy new if you can look it over in hand before purchasing!!!
I wouldn't recommend buying new site unseen!!!

Good luck and keep us posted!!! :)
