Happy to have found this forum. I live in SoCal from Nov thru Apr and in KY May thru Oct. I'm retired military, former HS and MS shop teacher and retirement community activities director. Also had a short 3 yr. stint as half-owner of an athletic goods business.
I have a Honda Shadow Ace 750 and a sort-of ramshackle house and garage/workshop in a little town in the heart of KY. I live in one of those ubiquitous 50+ subdivisions in CA. I do quite a lot of bicycle riding (for my age I guess) and am always looking for projects to keep myself busy.
I recently acquired an old Marlin Model 37 .22 cal. slide action rifle, SN 3153, an early one I think. It looks good but was missing 3 parts. I got 2 from Numrich but am still trying to locate a locking bolt plunger screw. One of the forum members here who also has a Model 37 is attempting to help me find this danged screw.
This is the first Marlin I've had. Have owned several guns over the years but gave most of them away (wish now I hadn't, of course). Now I have only a quite beat-up .38 revolver and the non-operational Model 37 .22. I love this little rifle and want to get it functional by May when I'll be heading back to KY for the summer.
I'll be lurking on this forum even when I don't have much to offer. I enjoy learning from more experienced owners.
Yep you have a lot to offer -- your service to our country proves that and we thank you! Welcome from Abilene and Goldthwaite, TX! Good luck on finding parts for the old Marlin. John
