Good day to all, I recently got a 336 from my Wife's Grandfather. From what I've attained so far it is a 1981 model year. I came across this site while researching the gun and look forward to learning more and getting this gun tweaked to my liking. Gun is immaculate and only missing the bullseye which I'd like to try and acquire.
Glad to be here,
Ryan
Hello from Alabama,
It's probably a very good rifle. In 1983 they started putting a disgusting piece of rebar in the receiver and called it a safety. You are fortunate to have received a late production rifle that preceded the ridiculous and dangerous burden referred to as a safety.

Good to know. Yes, mine does not have a safety.
