Hello. I've been a Marlin owner since I was 12 years old. Some 30+ yrs now, I wonder where all that time went? My first Marlin is a 30-30 that has "Glennfield Arms" or similar stamped on it.(not looking at it right now).
I just recently purchased a .308MX and now I'm a little curious about all this talk about "Remington", "Droop", and the seeming inability to find the factory load Hornady ammo. I'm not quite ready to pony up the money to get into reloading, yet. Figure that money could be spent on a rifle that I can find factory ammo for, like a 30-06.
When I was searching for the .308 I chose the MX because it is a visual match to my 30-30, and I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't read anywhere about it being made in whole or in part by Remington. Are all of the .308 MX\MXLR rifles Marlin\Remington composites?
I've managed to find 6 boxes of the Hornady ammo and bought another 6 of the Remington just to feel comfortable.
Any way, I'll be surfing the threads and posting mostly questions until I get up to speed.
Glad to be here, looks like this is a good group.
