I agree with you 100% that everyone needs a good 1893 Marlin in 32-40. A fun and very accurate cartridge. eh

Nice rifle, like there is a bad one. Anyway congrat's on the find.

Your thread title is interesting. We are similar, only different. I'm an old guy with a new rifle. Steve

Very nice, I like the half octagon/half round. Very cool indeed.

That looks like a three quarter magazine, Has it been cut or a factory installed option? As said above the 32-40 is an excellent caliber.

I'll bet your drooling aren't you, have you ordered those dies yet
Hey HCS,

You sir, should be ashamed of yourself! (any chance Revor and Wet Dog are in "cahoots"?) LOL (how many "enabling badges" you need?) LOL

The next three dies I order are, the TiN coated CH4D sizing die, in 38-55, and the Power Trim Dies (also from CH4D) for the 38-55 and 45/70.

Revor,

Apology for "thread drift".

That 32-40 is a very fine looking dinger ringer!

revor - Welcome to the MO site from west Texas. I would agree with all the above, the 32-40 is a great cartidge. You appear to have a nice rifle to shoot it with. Good luck with your rifle. Shenandoah

Thanks gents!

The 3/4 magazine does appear to be factory. The rifle shoots 200 grain cast very nicely. Cast is all it was ever fed I'm guessing as the bore is in fine shape.
It is a refinish and the refinisher did take care not to over polish so that's nice.
It's mighty handy for such a long thing.
While John Browning is in my opinion the worlds best weapons designer I still think I'd rather have this 1893 over a Win 94.
