Stopped by Dick's today, they have new 336A's in stock, hardwood stock, Marlin New Haven barrel roll stamp. I can get one with a gift card I have for $300 out the door, sound like a wise buy. Do you guys think these rifles are Conn. made or NY assembled from left over parts, all I looked at seem well made, nice blue and fit. Thanks.

I've seen some new Marlins lately (not too many around right now) with barrels stamped North Haven but REH instead of JM stamped on barrel. This leads me to believe that these are Remington/ Marlins. Marlin probably had some barrels pre made and stamped North Haven that was part of the sale.

Who knows if some original Marlins were stocked up in a warehouse somewhere but be sure to check the Serial Number and look for the JM proof mark on the LEFT SIDE of the Barrel for them to be originals.

The new Remington made Marlins have an REP proof mark on the RIGHT SIDE of the barrel. It looks like this
