Re: New 45-70 home...not a Marlin (pic heavy)

Very nice looking gun. Let us know how it shoots. That long barrel and the weight should make it a nice shooter.

Thank you.
I will for sure...I'm thinking I'll stick with just the plane old Remington 405's
Would love to take a deer with it next year.

Nice rifle! What would something like that cost?
That curved buttplate is gonna be painful. :(

That is really a nice rifle, always liked the look of the Winchy '86, but not the quality.

I like it Tom, I wonder if it comes in a carbine model? I have a Marlin 336 deluxe in .35 rem that I'd be willing to trade?

BEautiful gun. Can you put a peep sight on anywhere? My fathers Taylor sharps is a beautiful gun. Problem was the sights. You would need a gunsmith to do it right.

I'm sure you can put a set of tang peep sights on it.

That looks real nice!!! Now go have fun with it!!! And if you get a deer this year, we want pics, of course!!!

And for those who like a different flavor, it is also available in 444 Marlin.

I really like it! Wish it were made in the USA, but that doesn't subtract from what it is either.

I had a Taylor High Wall 45-70 ( sold it after I got my Sharps) a very good rifle. With my experance with the high wall I would look at the Taylor over a Jap Winchester.
