New 45/70 and I love it

I guess a 3rd 45/70 means I am an addict of the caliber. I bought my first house last year and this past friday I recieved my $8,000 stimulus check and decided I should stimulate myself with it. Uberti High Wall. If any of you have experience with this gun give me some ammo advice. I use lever evolution in my guide guns and am happy with it but wondering if this gun tends to like something else.

She's a beauty for sure.
I use R-P brass, Rem LR Primer, 65.5 grs of Swiss 2F, .030 veggie wad, 3/16" compression. Use a cast 405 grain (Lyman 457193) to 520 grain (Lyman 457125) bullet. The white smoke is great and smells good too..

Or you could just load 42.3 grains of IMR 3031 pushing a 405 Remington jacketed bullet.

Great looking rifle.. I need one to add to my collection.. Already have several Marlins a Sharps and a Rolling block.
Nice aquisition you got yourself. Wouldn't it be great to buy houses like rifles.
That is a nice looking rifle, Be nice to hear a range report. ;D ;D
Very nice and congrats!

Yup I just used some of my home credit as well to beef up my gun collection. I picked up a new 1895 GBL yesterday and shot it today and I love it!
