I bought a 357 today. I knew it had issues. When I got it home and stripped it down The carrier has a broken part. At the time of this writing I do not know what it is. Needless to say the lever will not make the carrier work. Anyone have this parts used?

OK I took a pic of the carrier. Bibbyman got it figured out and with that info I found a rocker, the part that is broken. It is on order and hopefully be up and running shortly.

It sounds like the little knob that sticks out of the carrier to catch the lever is missing.

I don't know of anyone that sells just that little knob.

You will have to buy an entire carrier.

In the photo you can see the little knob that sticks out. It catches the lever on the closing cycle to lift the carrier into position.

Your carrier may have a rocker that sets in a "window" in the side of the carrier. All the early Marlin (1894 to 1907+) carriers were made that way and some after the 1894 went back into production about 1970. I would have thought the 1894c would have had the plunger button design.

Any any case, there is a cowboy gunsmith that sales a replacement plunger button.

If your carrer is in deed an old style, you may find a rocker on eBay. There is one available now.

It'll be a roll of the dice if it fits your carrier and works. I have a dozen or so Marlin 1894s and none of them have carriers that look the same.
