Hi All - I have an opportunity to purchase a model 989 semiautomatic in very good condition. I've done a little research and found out there were only about 25,000 of these made in the early sixties. It is NOT the model 989M2, it's the predecessor to that model. It seems to be in great shape, with nice wood and bluing. I don't know much of anything about these rifles. What would be a fair price for one in this condition? Any comments would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about that model, but I do have a nearly mint Glenfield model 40 which is at least as rare. The one thing it has taught me is that rare does not mean valuable.

Shouldn't be a problem. I have a 98 and that is hard to find even smell of parts.
