Surgery tomorrow, wish me luck. I'm having a three level discetomy in my neck, C4 thru C7. Should be fun. yeah right. I guess that I'll be turkey hunting this spring with my new Henry .22, not sure if the doctor will ever clear me to shoot turkey loads again. I should probably get the 5 pound jug of Trail Boss so I can keep shooting low recoil loads in my 30-30.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. I came home today and the surgery went well. As well as the bad discs I was told that I had bone spurs intruding on my spinal cord that they removed. It's hard for me to see the keyboard with my brace on so I have to keep this short, just wanted to say thank you to all my MO family.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes, I appreciate it. Went for my two week check up. The doc said that everything looks great and the plate is sitting tight against the vertebrae like it is supposed to. The only thing that has me bummed is that I just got an e-mail from the Florida wildlife commission, the guys who make all the hunting rules. I know that I don't get much sympathy from most people, but they just ruled that spring turkey season is now shotgun only on WMA's, I was planning on using my Henry .22 due to recoil. I guess that turkey hunting is out of the question for the next couple of years at best, oh well.

Why not try a 410 or 28ga, they both have very light recoil. Don't give up.

You will be fine ! A word of advice....make sure you take a good quality supplement that contains copper , Vit E , vit C , and a whole chelated mineral complex. This helps reduce scarrring and speeds healing. Also dont stress , either from the pain , or the mental stuff....even if you have to take a mild tranquilizer temporarily. A body in stress(pain) cant heal. You will be Fine !
BTW...I go in for surgey on thursday....dont know if I will have half a face or an esophagus when I wake up. I need 1 credit for Doctorates degree in orthomolecular nutrition....just didnt take my own knowlege and kept smoking.....It got me !
