OK I've narrowed down my dream rifle to two choices. The new 1894SBL in 44MAG, which sixguns told me about, or the 1894SS LTD 44MAG which I think has been out a few years now. The LTD has the straight stock, which is starting to grow on me, and the 16" barrel. The 1894SBL has the pistol grip, which I originally favored, and the Big Loop, but I don't like the XS Rail on it. I like the XS ghost rings but just mounted on the receiver without that rail. The SBL is supposed to have a 16" barrel but I have heard that it is actually the 18.5" one. I'm also a little afraid of the new Marlins and their quality. Damn difficult decision especially when money is tight anyway. They both cost a fortune and I'll be lucky to even find one of either. But they will both haunt my dreams for awhile.

Regardless of which one you chose, just make sure that you can look it over and work the action before you buy.
