This is a Issac Haines copy from a kit by Chambers. www.flintlocks.com
I hired Jim Klein assemble it in the white then had him carve, engrave and finish it in the end.
Rice swamped barrel, 45 caliber, Siler lock. Great rifle. I will shoot Thurs. Took me a time to put together all the stuff you need for live support for a flinter.

Thanks. As a kid I loved the Joseph Altsheler books about the woodsmen around the Revolutionary war. Ate em all up. Always had an affinity for these rifles. Jim did a nice job finishing it. www.jklongrifles.com
I don't know if I have the patience to shoot it much but it will be fun. Take you all day to go through a half box of balls. Heh. I'm through casting so I'll be using swaged Hornaday .440" balls. I think they weigh about 145 grains.
Getting all the little stuff you need is interesting. Haven't shot it but it sparks nicely.

Beautiful rifle. You a lefty too? I hunted with a Hatfield .50 flinter for a few years. It put down six deer for me.
