Well here are pics of my latest adiction (marlinits). Picked up this 1966 Model 336RC this morning from a local gunrange where I just went to buy some bullets and there it was...that bullseye looking right at me. Well you know the rest. The bluing needs 66 marlin 336RC 002 (640x480).jpg 66 marlin 336RC 003 (640x480).jpg 66 marlin 336RC 004 (640x480).jpg 66 marlin 336RC 005 (640x480).jpg 66 marlin 336RC 006 (640x480).jpg cleaning and the wood has been handled over the years but not a dent or ding in it. Plan to clean the wood and re-oil it.

I just picked up my 35 rem 336 i bought from blood groove.
Luckily there were no older marlins there or I might have had to bring home 2.
That is a beauty.

Thanks to all of you for your help along the way. Can't wait to see how the wood cleans up and post pics. Maybe I can get started next week.

I have 6 Marlin 336 RC's and all but one have nice bluing and nice stocks. The ugly one with the thin bluing and pits on the receiver is my favorite rifle. When I bought it the firing pin was broken and so was the top of the front sight. It also has some kind of strange walnut in the bottom stock. It looks like a normal walnut stock on one side and the other side is a lighter shade and with many tree knots in it. After replacing the broken parts I learned to love the bottom stock....it took some getting used to. It is a 32Special caliber which really makes it more "special" to me. The rifle needs reblued but I kinda like it the way it is..... it has character
