Wanted to share a few pix of my new acquisition - a Henry Golden Boy .22LR.

I had one of these babies on order for two and a half weeks from a store in Kentucky who was taking forever to process my order - their price was $429.99. I was getting impatient, especially when I saw one on the rack at BassPro last week, but they wanted $499... so I stayed the course with my online order.

But yesterday... I was out with a buddy, he needed some ammo, so we wandered into an Academy. As I was scanning the ammo shelves, a glint of gold caught my eye over on the gun rack. Lo and behold, it was a Henry Golden Boy .22LR... for only $399!!! The gentleman behind the counter said they got that gun in two days ago and was surprised no one had yet slurped it up. I told him it was mine the moment I saw that price tag! So needless to say, I high-tailed it home and canceled my online order. Just goes to show that patience sometimes pays off!

I had purchased a brass Skinner barrel-mount sight in advance and boy does it look sweet! I have to say, the action on her is like butter. She's my first Henry, and likely won't be my last. I plan to go out and shoot this baby Thursday.

Nice very nice!!! love those Henry's, I keep looking at the big boy also. Nice find and glad to here that persistance and patience works out. I will give some thought to trying both of those methods.

They do seem like nice looking rifles. I may get a Frontier model and if it is good, consider getting one for my nephew. The brass colored receiver looks nice, but with my eyes, I think I gotta have the model that is easier to put a receiver peep or low power scope on.

Honestly, they're almost too good-looking. The sad thing is how little I am handling it out of being afraid to scratch or fingerprint it up!

I was going to buy one at academy last week also but had just ordered a savage 93g online from buds, so I decided to pass the Henry up because of the other purchase. Lo and behold I get home and get an email from buds saying that they were sorry but they made a mistake on their website and don't have the savage that I had already paid for in stock and need to refund my money. So I rush back to academy only to find the Henry I wanted was being sold before my eyes I was crushed, hopefully they get some more in soon. Congrats on ur purchase, hope to get mine really soon

Congrats some more. That's excatly the way I set mine up. It took but one full rotation of the peep sight (think it was up) and I was dead-on at 35 yards using the original front sight.

We have two Henrys (a Frontier and a Golden Boy). Both are 22LR and slick as can be and both shoot anything you feed them. I handled a Henry BigBoy and it was just as slick as the 22s. It was a heavy sucker tho, but beautiful to look at. John

That is just Awsome. CONGRATS!! I have a 39AS, but every time I see the Henery 22 I think I need one. I got fed up trying to find a Marlin in 357 so I went with the Henery Big Boy in 357 instead. All I have to say is WOW. It is just a piece of art and yes it is just as smooth as the 22. It is heavy, but man I just love the thing. Got mine at Cabelas for $813 OTD. Pricey? Yes, but the Marlins are more. I dont feel bad at all for picking the Henery and it has me thinking I need another.
