I have measured my dovetail on the front sights and rear and I get different reading each time using an electronic caliber.. does any one know for sure if its a 3/8 dovetail or 375 as it sometimes reads even 370
I think I need a new caliber, I am putting globe sight on the front
thanks

I can say this , I took the rear sights off all mine and was going to put blanks in the slots. But they do not seem to want to fit .So I leave them all empty. And they are supposed to be 3/8's or .375 .

I've never bothered the front sight other then to put a little windage adjustment . So I cannot say about them .

The sight blanks are usually slightly oversized to allow for hand fitting. Carefully file or stone them to fit the dovetail. You might also have to do this to a replacement sight. Don't over do it, should be snug but not overly tight to where it pushes metal in the dovetail groove.
