My apologies for the newbie question, but I'm in the process of learning everything I can about my newly acquired 1894CS.

I referred to the forum Reference Library (specifically, "Marlin Years of Manufacture") and would just like to make sure I understood the PDF correctly.

The S/N on my 1894CS is 0408XXXX, so does that mean it was made in 1996?
