Anybody have any experience hunting muleys in the oil patch? May have exclusive access to 1800 acres in Andrews County but no on lives on the place so no real local knowledge is available. Quick google of the subject says they are big but sparse out there. Bad drought this year so who knows.

I hunted Texas Muleys one year out near Van Horn. They were few, like the guy said, but they were big, body & horns! Much bigger than our average Muley here in Utah in fact. The place we hunted was very weather specific, so don't know how the drought has affected them. One year, we had a bad drought in Southern Utah, and the deer had all migrated out to Arizona for water. This really bummed out the guys who has drawn the coveted tags for the Paunsaguant and elk Ridge Units, normally known for 30" bucks! Good luck, hey, by deer season, it could be wet as can be!
