Anyone ever use a MUELA knife for dressing/skinning game?

Wife brought one home for me to use just prior hunting season,
went thru an Elk and a Deer. this knife holds an edge. I was
going through some previous post. and 1095 (?) steel was mentioned.
don't know much about steel quality. this Muela is 440 steel.

I have never heard of this knife maker before, they are out of
Spain. not much on their website. I'm just curious if many of
of these knives are being used and what is your impression of it.
Mine is a fixed 4 inch blade with a pakkawood handle.

I was a bit disappointed at first as I had my eye on that " knives of
alaska" combo. But this Muela looks like it will meet my needs.

I'm really impressed with it. nice quality sheath also.

I know that this is old, but the question wasn't answered, so....

The knife is 440A, nothing special about the steel. BUT, they do a very nice job of heat treating. The RC is usually about 58-59. Most Muela knives are well made and nicely finished, especially for the price. They also use some nice designs, most of them are tried and true, they aren't into R&D. Over all they are GOOD value for the money.
