After trying many of the usual powders for my 30/06 with 150 gr. Speer Mag tips and 180 gr. Hornady sst's, I haven't found a load that I was entirely comfortable with until today. After reading that on occasion, some '06's will shoot well with IMR 3031 I decided to try it and with the 150's it will shoot sub 1"groups consistently. I am a little concerned about temperature sensitivity with 3031 but for now it feels good to find such an accurate combination.

I have gotten consistent 1"-1½" groups with Sierra 150gr FMJ Boat Tails (https://www.sierrabullets.com/store/product.cfm/sn/2115/308-dia-150-gr-FMJBT) using IMR 4064 (49.7 gr) (Shotgun & Pistol Powders). I use Remington 9½ Large Rifle Primers and the brass is US Military Surplus (Lake City). I also reload Sierra 125gr Spitzer bullets using IMR 4320 (51.7 gr) with similar results. Other bullets, but not quite as accurate: Sierra 180 gr Spitzer Boat Tail & Sierra 220 gr Round Nose

rlehots, I too have settled on 4064 with 150 gr Speer mag-tips. Bedded my rifle and it shooting around an inch at 100 yds. Marlin made a damn fine hunting rifle when they produced the MR-7.
