I just joined the forum so I am unsure if I selected the correct sub-forum for my first post. If I need to move it on over give me a heads up and I will re-post where needed.
A few years ago my father handed down his model 92 to me. As a young lad it was given to him by one of his uncles. It has an octagon barrel, is .22 caliber, serial # 400866, condition of the bluing is pretty darn good, no feckling, browning or patina. They must have really known how to blue metal in those days. The stock has taken a few hits over the years and the butt plate is partially broken off. It's also a little grimy around the grip.
My dad claims he shot many, many ground chucks with this as a kid but has not been fired since the late fifties when he got married. When he dropped it off he told me to never fire because modern shells use a different, more powerful powder than this gun was designed for. So I never have shot it and it lives in the back of my closet.
Not really looking to sell it, but I am concerned what value I should insure it for. Not to sure how to insert pictures yet, (and I have'nt taken any yet) but if needed I'm sure I could figure it out.
