i had an old model 60 that was almost forgot about in the upstairs closet.boredom set in so i sanded the stock,stained it with minwax clear since i liked eli's .22.then i removed the rust from the barrel and feed tube and reblued it using birchwood-casey cold blue,nothing fancy but i like it.all that is lest is to find a nice butt plate and some sights then off to the woods.thanks for everyones how-tos and direction and motivation.now maybe here are some pics.

I would do a lot of practice on some scrap hard wood first

Nice job! I see a lot of 60's that get refinished have good wood, mine sure did.
