Morning all - Just picked up a Model 60 manufactured in 1983. Appears to be in great shape other some small surface rust on the barrel. Came with a small 4x scope mounted but I would like to remove it and work with fixed iron sights first to learn the rifle. The rear sight does not seem to move. I understand the wide adjustment requires some light "Taping", but the elevator appears frozen in place and I don't want to force anything. I.m sure how it si supposed to move but figure them team might have some experience. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and belated Happy Birthday to my USMC Brothers and Sisters!

Grip the sides just under the buckhorn part and lift it up just enough to free the ramp. It might be rusted in place, but I always lift mine to move the ramp up or down...
