Hello, my mom's boyfriend has a model 60. One day we were out shooting and we heard a loud crack, he got a screw driver and loosened the two screws at the bottom of the gun in front of and behind the trigger, and when he pulled it out, a plastic piece came falling out.

I took it apart and snapped some pics. anyone know what went wrong? 1.png 2.png 3.png 4.png

Sorry, but your pictures are too small to see anything.
What color was the plastic piece the fell out, was it white or black?
I'm going to take a guess and say the buffer broke. It is white/cream colored in the original Marlin part.
Relatively easy to replace. It's a $9-$12 part.
Just follow the stickey at the beginning of the Rimfired section.

Pick up a new buffer and you'll be good to go.
