i am trying to figure out what i have and what it is worth. it is a 38-55, 25" octagon barrel sinlge shot lever action. new haven ct. pat. 1861. i think it is a model #4 made in 1891. serial # is in 3million area. the bore is in good shape. all sites are missing, the stock is also in good shape.
as soon as i get my camera repaired i will post a few pics. hopefully this week

I'm assuming we're talking about a Ballard here? If so, there's a couple of guys here that really know their stuff about Ballards and one should be along sooner or later.
