I recently bought a Model 336 centennial (obviously made in 1970)chambered in .35 Remington. It has the little medallion on the right hand side of the stock near the butt plate. Is there anything special about this rifle? anything in particular I should be looking for? thanks for the info

Probably LOTS of ammo and maybe some reloading supplies!

Congrats on your rifle.

I'll do it as soon as I get it, I bought it off auctionarms and it should be delivered by the first of the week.

I'm thinking every Marlin produced in 1970 had that medallion. I had a Model 99 semi auto 22 with it.
I looked at an add for the 70 marlins on eBay and didn't notice one on the .22 auto, the strait stock lever model had a big medallion on the receiver. doesn't really matter, I intend to hunt with it.
