I need one! but trying to get this strait, .092 tip is for Black Powder rifles, .080 tip is for smokeless, I measured the broken off tip and it measures .083. do these firing pins fluctuate that much in size.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. This is for a 30-30. ( the one I have posted on here before).

Smaller firing pin and firing pin holes in the bolt diameters better support the higher pressures of smokeless rounds. Just measure the firing pin hole on the breach face of the bolt.

So what I did is take a Westward WC27 punch which is 3/32 or 0.938 and is snug when slipped in to the breach face of bolt hole.

The old pin could have peened itself larger through years of use. .080 is the right size.

Well got the new pin installed! Works Great!

First round with the new firing pin and new Tang Sight!
First one was high! Lowered the sight for the next five rounds, and this is what I got!
Just wanted to see what grouping she would do. I"m happy so far! Need to try some more shooting, but very busy at the range today.
First day without heavy winds!
