My first rifle I ever bought was a New Model 15 single-shot .22; the full size one, not the Youth model they only catalog now. Still accurate after almost 20 years...

...when it fires! I am having a problem with misfires. I don't know if the rifle was stored cocked and the mainspring needs replaced or what. I took it to a gunsmith and he filed down the firing pin tip, something I had already done, with no better results. Often you can just turn the bolt to cock it and it will fire the 2nd time.

I don't know enough about the Marlin bolt to take it apart, anyone have any ideas?

If it were me, I'd consider calling Marlin service department and see about having the bolt rebuilt.....can't be all that expensive.
