Saw a nice-looking new 336 C 30-30 on the rack at a local gun store the other day. It had the REM stamp on the right hand side of the barrel and the serial number started with MR. The blueing looked great, and the walnut stock and forearm had really nice grain. The action seemed a bit stiff, but I don't think that's all that unusual for a new rifle. There was a serious problem with the wood-to-metal fit, though. You could actually wiggle the stock up and down about 1/4 inch or so. I've been looking for a 336c for a month or so, but it looks like I'll need to keep searching.
