Can any of the very last folks at Marlin snap a few parting pics to share here on MO?

I for one hate the fact that it is gone and would really like to have some pictures for history.

Thank you

You don't want any pictures of what the place looks like now.
It's depressing to still have to walk in here for the next 35 days.
About 98% of the Machinery is out of the building. There are only
a few flatbed trucks worth of machines left heading to Mayfield,
Kentucky and Ilion,New York. All the spare Machinery parts are
going out by Box Trucks to Ilion,Mayfield, and Lexington,MO. in
the next few weeks.
Whatever is left will be going to the Scrap Yards.
The place is an absolute shell of what it once was.

Kon,

Will you are any of the Marlin employees be going to one of the other Marlington Plants? Were you'all given the opportunity to move to one of the other plants? Did any of the Marlin Gun Makers/Assembler's move to another Marlington Plant?

How Far is The Closest Marlington Plant from you now?

I appologize for so many question's,, but for some of us Loyal Marlin Owner's,, we would like to know, more of What is Actually going on,

All The Best in whatever you decide to do,
Joe :)

Joe,
Out of 200 Hourly Employees, only 1 transferred to Remington in Mayfield, KY.
None of the Gun Makers/Assemblers went to any plant. They all went out to look for
new jobs.
We were given the opportunity to apply for jobs at any of the Remington Facilities.
However, there was no preferential hiring or any guarantee they would take any of
us.

Remington in Ilion,NY is about 220 miles from North Haven,CT.
Remington in Mayfield,KY is about 1060 miles from North Haven,CT.
Remington in Lexington,MO is about 1260 miles from North Haven,CT.

Ilion is doing all the lever Action Rifles.
Mayfield is doing all the Bolt Action Rifles.
Lexington is doing all the Woodwork.

I wish all the luck in the world to anyone who purchases a Marlington or Remlin Rifle assembled after the Summer of 2010.

That's about as nice as I can put it.

Send me a PM with your home e-mail address, so we can stay in touch on the Cruise Nights this summer......if we can afford the gas prices! ::) ::)

To tell the truth if the rifle has a Remington proofmark, it's a Remington to me.

Yep, Remington leverguns... ::)

44-40, I hear you might be shifting over to .357 as your mainstay, so will you then be known as 357 Willie?? ;);D ;D

Remington did make a 22 levergun back in the early 60s. The Nylon 76.

I still like the 44-40, but I've lost my lease on my horse pasture and it's either spend a bunch of money to fence up a 8 acre hayfield or let the horses go which I'm not ready to do. So it's looking like the 44-40 needs to find a home. That will also simplify my loading and bullet casting too.

Might see if I can get Dave or GJ to just change the handle to Willy

Hi KON,
It broke my heart to see the last of the Semi-Auto leave on 2/10. I'm glad I was out of there 2/15, I didn't want to look at the inside of that "Empty Shell" any more. I'm now enjoying my "extended vacation" visiting with my wife's family in Florida.

Take care,
Dom

Here are a pair I took after I got out of Marlin yesterday.
It is a "kick in the gut" to see these signs up already.
