I stopped in one of my local gun dealers and mixed in with the used guns is a Marlin Model 93. I've never seen one before. They are asking $295.00 for the gun. Only thing is the gun was tapped for a scope. Not sure if that's the way it came. Could someone help me and give me some info on the gun. The gun is in excellent shape. It looks like a newer gun. What's the gun worth.?

If the holes on top of the receiver are 1.125" apart, and behind the "Marlin Safety" rollstamp on top of the receiver, then they are factory, and not for a scope mount. They are for a Hepburn receiver sight.
Unless it was total junk, any 1893 Marlin will be a bargain at $295. You better get back there quick!
