What is a fair price on a model 81 tube fed bolt action, wood and bluing in good condition, but the receiver was drilled and tapped for a scope and rear sight missing, it was removed because it interfered with the scope. How hard is it to find a rear sight for a model 81 and how much does the drill and tapped receiver effect the value?
Thanks

Look at the on line gun auctions and see what similar guns are selling for(SELLING not asking) that will give you an idea of what you might get should you decide to sell.

The drilled receiver (Left side not top)should not change the value,as many were drilled at the factory for scope and/or peep sights before grooved receivers on rimfires took over.

3/8 dovetail rear sights with wedge type elevator are available from just about all gun parts suppliers.
