You are doing the right thing not to hold your breath, I don't think it will ever happen. In fact I don't think Marlin will ever produce another center fire bolt action rifle, period. They tried it, and they got their teeth kicked in by the competition. That's simply not Marlin's market. Marlin's market in the centerfire world is the lever action contingent . They manufacture them better and more economically than anyone else. If they produce any new products it will most likely be a center fire lever actions in a new caliber, new style, perhaps a different look but the same basic design that has worked for the past 150 years.
I don't think we will ever see them spend lots of R&D dollars on any centerfire venture except levers, and hey, that ain't all bad.
