Here we go again...I own a Ruger 1022 maagnum and just love the 22 mag cartridge. Now I am thinking of the 883, don't know why..just got the "wants', I am already deciding on which 4570 to get too...yeesh.

So..anyone know if Marlins gonna come out with the 883 in a 17HMR version? That'd be nice.

How many 883 owners out there? I'm leaning towards the tube fed cuz it holds more rounds than the 882 version and no magazine to drop or lose. It'd have a 3 round advantage over my 1022 maagnum.

Man I'm gonna go broke...

Howdy Ed-

Marlin would not likely go for putting those pointy 17 gr bullets in a tube magazine- although USRAC has with the 94-17. Looks like we are stuck with the 17 V and V S , for the time being. In all my years of .22 ownership, I have never lost a .22 box magazine. I did lose the inner mag tube from a 94-22-M into 10 feet deep duck soup from a canoe. It decided to launch it's self out of the gun with no warning. That was one nasty recovery.... I shouldn't say never- doing so is sort of an invitation...
