Wow, a SS41 mag for your first one - good for you!! I shoot a near maximum load with the Hornady XTP and have had a good deal of success on whitetails with it!. I have not shot cast in my Marlin's mainly because I got a boat load of the 210g Hornadys and they shoot so good that I haven't messed with anything else in the Marlins. I use Unique behind 210 cast bullets in several 41 revolvers (IIRC 8.5 grains).

Good Luck,

Would this be a limited model with 16-1/4" barrel, and gray laminate stock? If so, did you get it for under four digits?

Yes it is I got it for 700.00. Lily gun is hard to find around here. I do have some Bludot and H110.
Oh man, you stole it! You know only 250 were made right? I picked mine up for $1000 and I thought I did real well. I have a 1894FG and 1894 CCL 41 coming next b/c my SS41 is currently unfired. But its very very tempting. Going to shoot the 1894CCL first, and I know im going to absolutely love it!

Not what I'm thinking he has. My guess is its a Davdison special run of 251 stainless trapper length (~16") round barrel straight grip, checkered gray laminate, a la XLRs, and I think they had some oddball sights. The other calibers had different volumes of run, I think 45 colt was 251 and 44 was 351, of course this is going off of fuzzy memory.

The Cowboy Carbine Limited guns were 20" smooth wood and the Cowboy Limited were 24" checkered wood, although I'm pretty sure 41s weren't made in the 24" flavor. Both were blued guns with octagon barrels.

Someone with a better grasp can explain better than me. Hopefully they will be along shortly.

1894ss LTD sold in sets of 4 (357, 41, 44 and 45LC) a total of 251 sets for a total of 1004 rifles.

According to the blue book of gun values, they were made in 2006 with a MSRP of $660. There were 351 made in 357 and 44. There were 251 made in 41 and 45LC. With a total of 1204. And I hope to get my hands on one of each!

Davidson sold the sets with matching S/N, maybe few extra rifle in those calipers.

Good Luck in your hunt to find them, especially the 41mag. The 41 mag was the only 1894 made in stainless steel and if you do find one for sale, prices are from $1300 to $2000+. So your off to a good start already having the 41.

Bigstrapper we need pictures........ Picture of my1894ss LTD with a S&W 657 3" barrel
